Cowan Lake is a reservoir located in Clinton and Fayette counties of Ohio. It was created in 1950 when a dam was built on Cowan Creek, a tributary of the Little Miami River. The lake covers 692 acres and has a maximum depth of 42 feet. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. The lake is also home to a state park that offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and a nature center. Fish species in the lake include bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.
